In came the new wind
Hey fellas, it’s been a while huh? I hope you guys have been well. Recently, Otto approached me with another project, but this one is bigger. So big that maybe, just maybe, we’ll need you guys for it. I can’t say much else, but you can count in the coming days that something will come up on this here tumblog. That’s all for now, take care!

Please reblog this to help strike a blow against pediatric cancer. I will post on Sunday exactly how much I’ve raised by doing this!
Additionally, if you would like to make your own donation, you can do so by clicking here. My mom is donating an additional $.25 for every $1 that is donated until 8 AM CST on 10/17/09.
after some deliberation
We both (we being Otto and I) agree that we shouldn’t follow the suggestion of making this a group project. The biggest concern of course is the sharing of personal information; it was one person in this format, to make it multiple people would make it a bit of a risk. That said, I think we might have actually reached an end to this ride, it’s been a blast and I believe those drawings were the last. I can’t really offer much but my thanks to everyone that joined in on supporting the project and were bold enough to actually participate in it. I won’t delete this tumblog so you fine folks can come on in at any time and take a look at what transpired. Thanks again for sharing the smiles :D
p.s. still working on that draw my thing/ online pictionary event. It WILL happen
hey gang, hope all is well. while otto and I are discussing somethings, enjoy the new TOY STORY 3 trailer and sit tight :)
At a crossroads
Folks, we gotta respect the man’s wishes. Unexpected things happen in life, and the outcomes are that much more unpredicted. Personally, I thought we would have at least 100 smiles. But that’s life for ya, and we did manage to round up 520 followers on such short time (thank you tumblrstaff!). Just accept what’s done as done…
except
What do we do about this tumblog? Personally, I’ve got some thoughts about community interaction such as draw my thing (pretty much online pictionary) with you guys, Otto and myself- that would be SO fun! Or maybe even sharing more of Otto’s work. I definitely won’t delete this, but it would be a shame to go inactive so fast.
As the fine followers that motivated Otto to work as much as he could and for me to reblog (lol) to the max, what do you feel is the right course for us to take with this joint?
Smiling at the Drawings
Hello everyone,
This is going to be my last hello to you all. I feel bad for doing this but there are many outside and inner forces right now that prevent me from continuing this project. It began as an experimental and social project and I wanted to see how it will go. To my surprise, it was very successful and fun! It was a good experience for me and I’ve learned a few things from doing this.
There are still a lot of requests sitting in my inbox (but I’ve read all of them!), but they will soon be deleted as promised for security reasons. Sorry to those (all 341 of you) that I couldn’t get to. I hope you can find some other way in this world to make you smile and brighten up your day. Explore! Meet new people! There are many things in life that are worth smiling for.
Thanks to everyone who participated, requested, sent back a picture, sent me back letters/drawings, and sent me words of kindness and stories!
Thanks to Hamid again for helping me out and giving the project some exposure. Without him, I wouldn’t have gotten a rumpload of requests!
Thanks to the people who have donated. The donations have helped out in sending out the drawings, so in a way, everyone of you is connected. If you feel that it has gone to waste because of this abrupt end, then by all means, drop me an e-mail to request the donation back. I won’t hold it against you, promise! I actually feel bad about it all!
Thanks to those who gave me advice and words of encouragement when I was feeling doubtful.
An extra thanks to everyone!
Now a gift for you all and to mark the absolute end (so I won’t restart it again) of this project. I will display all of the drawings that were never posted because there weren’t any pictures to pair them with. They won’t be accompanied by a smile, but I hope they can still bring a smile to those that haven’t received one themselves and to those that are in need of a smile. Though I don’t expect any more pictures to be sent to me, if I do receive any, I will remove the drawing from this post and create a new post for it! There are a few drawings missing because I forgot to scan them. Now those are the truly lost smiles.
Now, without further ado, the lost smiles.

sorry for the delay
things are a tad busy here. though it’s not busy enough for me to ask how my favorite people are. So, how many times did you smile today??
